Simon Helberg Joins Natasha Lyonne, Rian Johnson’s ‘Poker Face’

Simon Helberg is the latest addition to the cast of Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson’s Peacock series production, diverse I learned exclusively.

Leon will star in the series, which sources say will follow a procedural format and see Leon’s character work on solving various murders in each episode. More details about the plot and characters are kept confidential. Helberg joins the cast that already includes people like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Benjamin Bratt, Stephanie Hsu, David Castaneda, Jamila Jamil, and Tim Meadows among many others.

Helberg is best known for playing Howard Wolowitz across 12 seasons of the sitcom The Big Bang Theory on CBS. The show ended in 2019 after over 275 episodes. Helberg is also known for his roles in films such as “As They Made Us”, “Annette”, “Florence Foster Jenkins”, “Good Night and Good Luck” and “A Serious Man”. He received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his work in “Florence Foster Jenkins”.

It is represented by UTA, MGMT. Entertainment, Identity, and Goodman Gino.

“Poker Face” received a 10-episode order at Peacock in March of 2021. Johnson created the series and is executive producer via T-Street Productions. The executive produces in Lyon under the Animal Pictures banner as well as starring, with Maya Rudolph and Daniel Renfrew Burns of Animal Pictures producing. Nora and Lila Zuckerman serve as executive producers and co-producers on the show. T-Street’s Ram Bergman and Nina Rodrigue are also executive productions. MRC TV will be produced. MRC is a minority investor in T-Street, with a first look deal across both film and television.
