The Directors Guild of America announced Thursday that the 75th annual DGA Awards, which honors the best directors in film and television, will take place on February 18 next year.
The ceremony takes place three weeks before the Oscars, scheduled for March 12.
In addition, the union also announced the voting schedule and announcements prior to the distribution of awards to its members. The first category to be announced is a feature film, which will open voting on December 5 before voting closes on January 10, with the five nominees announced on January 11, and screenings for the five candidates will be available to DGA members starting January 16 and ending on January 20, to be announced The first-time nominees will also be announced on January 11, while TV, commercial and documentary film nominees will be announced on January 11. All voting will be conducted online.
