The title was “Nostalgia,” Locarno movie “Delta” widely sold

Italy’s True Colors has sold quiz drama Can Mario Martone in Naples “Nostalgia” to Curzon Film for the United Kingdom and Ireland, among other new territories.

The deal, negotiated by Francesca Tiberi, sales director of True Colors, and Eleonora Pesci, acquisition executive at Curzon, marks the first partnership between the two companies.

At a recent Italian Shows Market event in Lecce, southern Italy, the Rome-based sales firm struck new deals on several other films, including a pre-sale on Locarno’s upcoming title “Delta,” a revenge drama with film Western Contemporary Vibration.

‘Nostalgia Marton’ praised him diverse Critic Guy Lodge as “the most rewarding film in years” by prolific Italian writer, stars Pier Francesco Favino as middle-aged Felice Lasco, who returns to the bustling seaside town after living in Egypt for 40 years. Once back, he finds himself stuck in memories of the distant life he spent in his hometown, where his criminal youth slowly catch up with him.

“Nostalgia”, which performed relatively well at the declining Italian box office, was sold in Italian shows to Germany (MFA+), Sweden (Njuta Film) and Austria (Polyfilm). True Colors has now closed sales in more than 20 regions at the address and is in advanced talks about a US deal, according to Gaetano Maiorino president.

In Lecce, True Colors also launched a pre-sale on “Delta,” directed by budding associate Michele Vannucci (“Il PiĆ¹ Grande Sogno”) as Italy’s Po River delta becomes the setting for a Western-style clash between fishermen and illegal fishermen.

The film features the characters of Italian actors of the first order Alessandro Borghi (“Demons”) and Luigi Lo Cassio (“The Traitor”).

“Delta” was sold to Koba Films for France and Paradiso Filmed Entertainment to Benelux ahead of the Locarno Piazza Grande premiere on August 7.
