Gabe tells him that she and her mother are separated. “She didn’t have the ability to love me when I was a kid. And she was really quick to take love away — like, oh, you know, if you didn’t do this and that, you’d have to live with your father.”
Gabe went on to say, “I [didn’t] Anytime you want to lose my mom. That was very scary for me. And then when I left for college, she washed her hands and didn’t want to do anything with me.”
