Bad Bunny ‘Un Verano Sin Ti’ took first place for the eighth week; Beyoncé dips to 3

Bad Bunny is back at the top of the albums chart for a non-consecutive eighth week, with last week’s leader, “Renaissance” for Beyoncé, slipping to number three in its second week on the chart.

Before “Renaissance” debuted on July 29, the August 13 chart of “Un Verano Sin Ti” showed a slow decline in units earned. In its first 11 weeks, the album was grossing over 100,000 units, and by the time Beyoncé entered the ring, that number had begun to drop. However, in this week’s chart, Un Verano Sin Ti is back to earn 108,800 album equivalent units (up 4 percent from last week), according to Lights Up Across Billboard.

“Un Verano Sin Ti” debuted at number one on the May 21 chart, then left number one for three weeks thanks to Harry Styles’ “Harry’s House” entry. Subsequently, he returned to first place before falling back to second place for two weeks. He regained the top spot in his first multi-week run, spending five weeks in the top spot, before being overruled by Beyoncé.

Beyoncé’s reign on the albums chart may be short-lived, but the dance-oriented album continues to dominate the songs chart as “Break My Soul” remained at number one for the second week. The track is her first Hot 100 single in 14 years and her eighth on the chart. The last time Beyoncé topped the charts herself was in 2008 when Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) topped the Hot 100 for four weeks.

The track also rose from number five to number two on the digital song sales chart, propelled by Madonna’s song “The Queens Remix” which was dropped on August 5. Six new editions of “Break My Soul” are also available for purchase. During Tracking Week: Honey Dijon, Terry Hunter, and will.i.am remixes; his Nita Aviance club mix; Both are a cappella version and machines.

New on the album chart is YoungBoy Never Broke Again entering with his new album – and his top 10 hit – “The Last Slimeto”. The massive 30-track album debuted with 108,400 equivalent album units. as such Billboard NotesYoungBoy Never Broke Again has charted a total of 22 entries on the 200 chart in the past five years. Counting “The Last Slimeto”, the American rapper charted three new albums in the top 10 of 2022 with “Better Than You” and “Colors”.

Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” is still at number four with 49,000 units gross, and Harry Styles’ Harry’s House takes fifth with an average of 43,000 units. Eminem is followed by his second greatest group, “Curtain Call 2”, which debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 and earned 43,000 equivalent album units.

The Billboard 200 closing is previous top chart figures: Future’s “I Never Like You” which goes up 9-7; Drake’s “Honestly, Nevermind” raises from 10 to 8; Olivia Rodrigo’s “Sour” jumps 14-9; And Lil Durk “7220” climbs 13-10.

As for the Hot 100, DJ Khaled’s “Staying Alive” featuring Drake and Lil Baby debuted at number five. It broke into the Bee Gees’ classic 1977 track “Stayin’ Alive” and gave Drake a record 59th in the top ten. Lil Bibi is ranked 10th and DJ Khaled takes 7th place. Also new on the bill is Benny Blanco, BTS and Snoop Dogg’s “Bad Decisions” in 10th place.

Former No. 1 Harry Styles “As It Was” slipped from 3-2, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” fell from 2-3 after two weeks at the top of the charts, and last but not least, Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” (A Deal With God) At number four. She previously peaked at No. 3 driven by her syncope in Season 4 of ‘Stranger Things’ on Netflix.

Completing the song chart is Steve Lacey’s first 10 hits, “Bad Habit,” which went up 7-6; Future’s “Wait for You,” which features Drake and Thames, drops 5-7, a week later in first place; Nicki Yuer’s and Dazzy’s “Sunroof” lifts 9-8, and Jack Harlow’s “First Class” goes down 6-9.
