Houston crime: 15-year-old may be paralyzed after being shot twice near convenience store on Clearwood Drive, police say!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A 15-year-old man may be paralyzed after being shot in the back along a sidewalk in southeast Houston, police said.

Police said the teen had just left Valero’s corner store in Building 9400 of Clearwood Drive near Tavenor Lane shortly after midnight when he was shot.

Investigators have security camera footage of the accident. They said he showed the teenager crossing the street and then shot him twice in the back.

Investigators said the 15-year-old was trying to buy some potato chips and cola, but his card was refused.

Then he walked out of the store and across the street.

“Sometime when he got here across the street, we see a white car stopping, unknown whether it is connected or not, but a little white sedan,” said Lieutenant Wilkins. “Then we see someone running off the sidewalk and climbing on it, and it looks like they’re shooting twice.”

Police said that after the teen fell to the ground, the shooter stood on top of him and kicked him several times before running away.

The teen was taken to the district hospital. Doctors told police he may be paralyzed.

Investigators believe the shooter is an older man who was wearing a gray or white jacket.
