Lukas Gage Joins Dead Boy Detectives Series on HBO Max (Exclusive)

Lukas Gage joined the cast of “Dead Boy Detectives” on HBO Max, diverse Learn.

The eight-episode series was ordered on HBO Max in April. It is inspired by the DC comics of the same name as well as “The Sandman,” from characters created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner.

The series’ official description states, “It’s a new take on a ghost story that explores loss, grief, and death through the lens of Edwin Payne (George Rickstro) and Charles Rowland (Jaden Rivery), two dead British teenagers who are surviving a friend, Crystal Palace (Casius Nelson). So, it’s a lot like the old detective series – just darker and on the acid.”

Gage will play the recurring role of Cat King, who is described as a charming crook and a wandering cat spirit, who cares deeply about Edwin.” Gage takes over the role from Alexander Calvert.

Gage broke out with his role in the first season of the Emmy-winning HBO series “The White Lotus” and had an unforgettable arc in the HBO series “Euphoria”. His other recent TV credits include Peacock’s limited series “Angelyne”. He will also appear in the new season of “You” coming to Netflix. He recently starred in Daniel Goldhaber’s How to Blow Up a Pipeline, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was sold to Neon for distribution. He is also scheduled to appear in the remake of “Road House” set on Amazon opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor.

It was commissioned by WME, Anonymous Content, and Goodman Genow.

Steve Yuki wrote the pilot for “Dead Boy Detectives” and also serves as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Beth Schwartz. Jeremy Carver is also executive producing along with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions. Lee Toland Krieger directed and executive directed the pilot, and David Madden also produced the pilot. Warner Bros. TV is the studio. Yockey, Carver, Berlanti Productions, and Krieger are all subject to extensive deals with WBTV.
