2022 RIFF Winners List: “Rodeo”, “Ride of Marbles” among the winners

The annual Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) wrapped up Saturday night, wrapping up an 11-day event showcasing this year’s best honorees in Háskólabíó alongside award-winning Austrian drama ‘Vera’.

Winners in the New Visions category, featuring exclusively the first and second films from the filmmakers, are among the works that have earned their revenge on screen. Among the winners is the Golden Puffin winner “Rodeo”, continuing the film’s early success on the awards circuit at festivals such as Cannes and the Champs Elysees.

Director Lola Kevoron previously said, “I spent five years writing what became ‘Rodeo’.” diverse Regarding her distinctive appearance. “I wanted to create a true fairy tale and weave elements of the genre, gang, and a bit of the West. The idea was to make a movie that had an aesthetic and cinematic dimension.”

Special references were given to “Sister, what grows where the earth is sick?” and “I Have Electric Dreams” in the New Visions category.

The 2021 documentary “A Marble Travelogue” by Beijing-based director Shun Wang will also be screened. The film won a Different Tomorrow award for spreading awareness about how social class and the production chain are interconnected.
