Brian May Shares Unreleased Freddy Mercury Queen Song Face It Alone – “A revelation!” | music | entertainment

After Freddie Mercury’s death in 1991, Quinn worked on her last album featuring all four band members. Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon played guitar, drums, and bass on the singer’s posthumous recordings for the creation of Made In Heaven in 1995. But there is still unpublished material out there.

During sessions for The Miracle album in 1988, when Freddie had already been diagnosed with HIV but it had not been announced, the band recorded a song called Face It Alone that did not make it into the 1989 album.

Earlier this year, Brian and Roger told BBC Radio 2: “Yes, we did find a little gem from Freddy, we had kind of forgotten about. And it was. It’s amazing. Indeed, it was a real find. It’s a miracle session.” .

Brian shared: “It was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it a few times and thought, Oh no, we can’t really salvage that. But we actually just went there again and our great engineering team went, well, we can do this and that.” It’s kind of like stitching the pieces together.”

About what the Freddy Mercury unheard song sounds like, Brian added, “But it’s beautiful. It’s touching.” “It’s a very emotional piece,” Roger said. Now the track is ready to be released on Thursday, guitarist Quinn shared the first baffling snippet on social media.

One fan wrote: “Hearing Freddy’s voice in a new unreleased song is such a magical, timeless feeling. He was unique and we never tire of remembering and liking him. Thanks Bree.”

Another added: “Sounds great hearing that sweet voice of Freddy. Can’t wait to be edited to listen. You and Roger had to be special.[ted] to find him and hear his voice.”

The Queen will release the full song on October 13.
