Houston driver charged with aggravated assault after Waller County deputy dragged several feet!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A woman was arrested for the aggravated assault of a Waller County government employee Thursday in a hit-and-run incident at 8800 Tidwell Road that occurred September 28.

Officials have identified the woman accused of hitting the 46-year-old MP with her car, 25-year-old Kennedy Armstrong Williams.

Vehicle Crime Division, Houston Police Department, Sgt. Clark and Officer D. Nguyen reported that the deputy was in uniform and directing traffic at the Mesa Drive junction of Tidwell Road when a white Dodge Challenger was attempting to turn on Mesa Road.

Rep. Williams ordered a stop, so you can work through traffic through the intersection. Police said that after initially stopping, Williams ignored orders and walked across the intersection, hitting the deputy, knocking her to the ground, and dragging her several feet. Then Williams fled the scene.

The paramedics transported the deputy to the district hospital for possible bruising and rashes on the road.

The deputy was able to provide the responding officers with the vehicle’s license plate. Officers checked the residence of a relative associated with the registered vehicle and the location of the driver or vehicle has not been determined.

On Thursday, officers from the HPD Williams Northeast Patrol Division arrested without incident.
