A Christmas Story Sequel: Ralph All Grown Up in a New Movie

Nearly 40 years after the release of the original movie, HBO Max has dropped the official trailer for A Christmas Story Christmas, announcing the start of the holiday season and the return of original star Peter Billingsley as Ralphie Parker.

No longer a blockbuster movie, the trailer shows the 51-year-old actor trying to reconnect with his inner child and come to terms with his father’s death by returning to Cleveland Street with his new family. With the goal of giving the kids in his hometown the same kind of magical Christmas he once experienced, Ralph will meet childhood friends and make new ones to spread holiday cheer. The upcoming release was launched in the 1970s, due to the 1983 movie A Christmas Story set in the 1940s.

Other returning cast from the original film include Ian Petrella as Randy, Zack Ward as Scott Farkus, Scott Schwartz as Fleck, and RD Robb as Schwartz. coincides with the movie Petrella returns to the screen Since his performance in the 1983 Christmas classic. New cast members include Erin Hayes – who will play Ralph’s wife, Sandy – along with River Drush and Juliana Lane – who play Ruby and Sandy’s children.

Clay Cates (“The Christmas Chronicles,”) directs the film, which was produced and written by Nick Schenk. The film is produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary and Wild West Picture Show Productions.

“A Christmas Story Christmas” will be separated from previous “Christmas Story” sequels, such as 1994’s “It Runs in the Family” or the TV musical “A Christmas Story Live!” The original film was considered a flop when it debuted, but it’s become a holiday darling over the past few decades.
