Sales Agent Picture Tree Intl. The romantic comedy “Love Thing”, starring prominent German actor Elias Mubarak, has sold to several regions. He also made his first deal for the Austrian horror movie “Smother”.
“Love Thing” went to Flins & Piniculas in Spain; A2 Distribuidora in Latin America; Cinemart AS in the Czech Republic; and AV-Jet in Taiwan. Spafax & Anuvu acquired the rights to the airline. PTI is conducting negotiations with buyers in France, Italy, the CIS and Hungary.
“Love Thing”, starring Lucie Heinze, Peri Baumeister and Alexandra Maria Lara, is directed and written by Anika Decker, whose latest movie “High Society” has been widely sold. Decker wrote the scripts for box office hits like “Rabbit Without Ears,” which grossed $85 million. The film is produced by Constantin Film, which showed it in Germany earlier this year.
In the movie, it’s Berlin red carpet time, and everyone is waiting at the premiere to catch a glimpse of Germany’s biggest movie star, Marvin Busch (Mubarak). But they’re all waiting in vain, because there’s no way Marvin will appear after his interview with slasher and ruthless tabloid journalist Bettina Bamberger (Lara) is going wrong.
The star goes on the run and takes shelter in a feminist LGBT+ theater called 3000, which is run by Frida (Heinz), and is on the verge of bankruptcy. Will Marvin, Frida and their friends succeed in saving the stage, restoring Marvin’s reputation, and giving true love a chance?

“Strangulation,” directed by Ahmed Abdel Salam and produced by Glitter and Dom, focuses on Michi, a recovering alcoholic. After her father’s death, she stayed at his summer house with her daughter for a few days. Her long-suppressed childhood memories are overshadowed by her mother’s suicide. Trying to numb herself with alcohol speeds up her paranoid state.
