Japanese box office: Shinkai Makoto the best character with the opening of ‘Suzumi’

To win this year’s box office championship, “Suzumi” must first join the current number one spot for 2022, the popular anime One Piece: Film Red, which bowed out on August 6 and grossed $123 million so far, with Toei distribution. Meanwhile, the best live-action edition of the year is “Maverick: Top Gun” with a gross of $99 million.
