Death Stranding 2 launch window leaked

We now have an edit window for Death Stranding 2 Officially and tentatively DS2 — courtesy of a new leak that came directly from an employee working on the PS5 game. Unfortunately, this leak confirmed that the game won’t be releasing in 2023. It’s hard to imagine that many were imagining a new Kojima game coming in 2023, but if you’re one of those optimistic few, well, not so, not according to this leak on anyway.

The leak comes in the way of Frank Alberti, a senior artist at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts. According to Aliberti’s ArtStation profile, the game will be released sometime in 2024. The ArtStation staff page has since been modified to remove this information, but not before. The internet got its receipt.

Now, this is likely an inconsequential bug rather than a consequential bug, which means it’s possible that Aliberti simply thinks the game is confirmed for 2024 and adjusts its profile accordingly. It’s unclear why any artist outside Kojima Productions’ walls would know about the game’s release time. An artist at Kojima Productions knows Inner Window makes sense, but someone from PlayStation Studios Visual Arts doesn’t. It’s not impossible, it’s not clear why they were exposed to this confidential and valuable information since they are not an essential member of the studio. The less people know about the target release window, the better. Why? Well, to avoid leaks just like that.

At the time of publication, none of the parties involved – Aliberti, PlayStation, Kojima or Kojima Productions – have commented on any of this. If this changes, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly. In the meantime, treat this as you would any leak, that is, take it with a grain of salt.

Death Stranding 2 It was just revealed earlier this month at The Game Awards. Currently, it’s in development for the PS5, it doesn’t have a release date or release window, and the latter seems to confirm that it won’t be released, at least, in 2023.
