Today’s generation and PC gamers will get to experience XDefiant together.
Ubisoft’s upcoming free-to-play shooter XDefiant will get its first inside cross-play session this week. Starting February 16th, participants will be able to try out the game on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X | S or PC with cross-play enabled. The testing session will be available through February 20th, with a particular focus on cross-play connectivity checks and the console experience.
The first session of XDefiant in 2023 will include four different game modes as well as 13 maps. Keep in mind that participating in a test session will require signing a non-disclosure agreement, which prevents users from sharing any game screenshots online. So, if you’re thinking of broadcasting your experience or sharing your gameplay with others, you’d be wise not to.
The testing session will begin on February 16th at 1pm EST / 6pm GMT and will end on February 20th at 2am EST / 7am GMT. Unlike previous playtest sessions, your experience will not be limited to 3 hours. Before the matches begin, participants will have a 15-minute warm-up time to prepare everything for the experience and ensure they are familiar with how the game works.
Regarding the fact that the game is still in development, Ubisoft has also subscriber A number of known issues that participants will encounter in the upcoming Insider session. This includes the faction of Cleaners not being removed from the test due to a specific error.
XDefiant was originally announced in 2021. Although Ubisoft has canceled a number of freeware projects in the past few years, development of XDefiant continues. The game still doesn’t have a release date, but the developers have tried to get feedback from the community multiple times through testing sessions. While the upcoming Insiders session will only include current-gen consoles and PCs, XDefiant will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it launches.
XDefiant is a faction-based multiplayer shooter, where each faction has certain abilities and skills. The first-person shooter also offers a variety of game modes, each of which tasks players with different objectives to claim victory.
