How to use clean power charging on iOS 16.1

You can do your part and help reduce your personal carbon footprint by enabling clean energy charging on your iPhone running OS 16.1.

Many people care about the environment and use clean energy sources, such as solar and wind power, at least whenever possible. If you’re interested in clean energy charging, you can actually set many of the best iPhones to only recharge when they’re plugged into an electrical grid that uses clean energy sources. It’s a small step towards reducing your personal carbon footprint, but an important one. Like Optimized Battery Charging, Clean Energy Charging works in the background, so you can do your part to help the environment.

There are a few things you need to do to set it up.

1. go to settingsAnd Privacy and securityAnd Site services.
2. Scroll down to system services and choose.
3. Scroll down to System customization And make sure it’s on with the slider to the right and lit up green.

   

   

4. Scroll down to important sites. If it is off, select it. You may need Face ID or a login passcode in order to change the setting.
5. Turn it on Tapping on the scroll bar on the right.

   

   

6. After that, go back to settings and scroll down to battery.
7. He chooses Battery health and charging.
8. under Clean energy chargingtap the slider on the right to turn it on.

Clean Energy Charging works by downloading a carbon emissions forecast as soon as you connect your iPhone, such as the new iPhone 14, to a charging source. This works in the background, using your iPhone’s location to determine which power grid is nearby. Once it has this information, the phone will charge as needed. But keep in mind that as of now, Clean Energy Charging only works in the United States

The feature will also only be turned on in the locations where you spend the most time, such as your home, office, a local coffee shop where you work occasionally, a friend or family member’s home, and so on. The feature will be automatically disabled if you are traveling or in a new place where you do not have the option to charge clean energy but need to make full use of your phone.

There’s also an override feature: When you see a notification for how long it’ll take to fully recharge your iPhone battery, but you’re in a hurry and need it sooner, just touch and hold the notification and select Charge Now to pause the clean power charge.

The feature should be on by default when you set up a new iPhone or once you’ve updated to iOS 16.1. You can follow these steps and do the opposite if you want to turn it off.
