Vermintide 2 Tower Of Treachery DLC Release Date Revealed

Developer Fatshark has unveiled a new free DLC for Warhammer: Vermintide 2, titled Tower of Treachery, which is set to conclude the treacherous adventure saga. The next update for PC will be released on March 28th, with console versions to follow later this year.

In the wake of the game’s fifth anniversary, Fatshark revealed the next content update via a cinematic trailer. The Tower of Treachery will see Ubersreik 5 investigate strange occurrences in the nearby town. Players will confront the necromancer Sophia Voijonasus to stop her from wreaking havoc across the world. The DLC will be the final installment of the Treachery saga, which first began with Trail of Treachery in November of last year. You must clear the way to Toxstadt and find out what has befallen the settlement.

Sophia Fueonasus has taken over Olesya’s old hideout and aims to spread her corruption throughout the Gray Mountains. Players will be tasked with stopping her murderous plans while navigating Olesya and Sophia’s traps. They must tread familiar ground with the aim of re-igniting it.

The DLC adds a new mission tied to the previous update to the game, as it also brings 13 new challenges for players to put their skills to the test. Besides, players will save the village of Toxstadt, which is full of illusions and surprises.

“After releasing the first part of the adventure with Trail of Treachery, we’re very excited to see players’ reaction to this second and final installment. A lot of work and passion went into creating this new villain, Sophia – we hope our players will love her as much as we do,” Sasha Karsenty, The producer at Fatshark, teased the new content ahead of its imminent release. In terms of gameplay, the DLC also includes a new area, where players can complete challenges to earn rewards.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 first launched to positive reception in May 2018, thanks to its cooperative melee combat and light RPG elements. It also received praise for how each chapter brings something different to the table in terms of gameplay. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is now available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam.
