Fast travel in Dead Island 2 isn’t a necessity thanks to the game’s small linear spaces, but it’s still a useful tool to have in your arsenal. Fast travel may not sound complicated, and it isn’t, but since the game doesn’t give players a great outline of how to do it, it can be easy to overlook this mechanic.
There is at least one fast travel point in each area of the game, with some locations having two. These are available very early in the game and come in the form of maps. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these red stickers.
fast travel
Players won’t have to wait long in Dead Island 2 before fast travel becomes available. For fast travel, all players need to do is find one of the red maps (found in most safe houses/bases scattered around the world) and then interact with it to start fast travel. They are usually located near workbenches or weapon lockers, but there are still a few anomalies in the group.
Fast travel websites
Here is a full list of fast travel locations, so gamers know they haven’t missed any. While most of them will be accessed during story missions, there are a few that can only be found by exploring the specific area, so they are easy to miss for players who want to focus on the narrative.
Bel Air (Emma Gaunt Mansion)
The fast-travel map in Emma Jaunt’s Mansion will be the first map that players come into contact with. It is located on the dining room table in the mansion, opposite the workbench and weapon storage chest.
Beverly Hills (Roxanne’s house)
The Beverly Hills fast-travel map will be the second map that players can access. It is very easy to locate as it should be placed on the wall to the right once you enter Roxanne’s house. This is the home that is Ricky Rex’s home, for context’s sake.
Halperin Hotel (Janitor’s Office)
A quick travel map for Hotel Halperin will be found a little inside the building. It can be found just before the elevators go up at the end of the long hallway on the first floor. It is located in the concierge’s office.
Monarch Studios (green screen)
This fast travel map is located at the far end of the area (in relation to where you originally entered from Beverly Hills) behind a green screen. For further reference, it is located behind the giant spider machine. He can be found, more specifically, sitting at a table near the workbench.
Brentwood Sewers (ZFZ near Baton)
The first players can be found at the Brentwood Sewers fast-travel point shortly after players meet Patton, a much-loved character who lives her days cut off from the outside world.
Brentwood Sewers (Maintenance Room)
The fast travel point is located in the maintenance room at Brentwood Sewers at the end of the sewer area after players have waded through some dangerous zombie areas.
Venice Beach (Blue Crab Grill)
Once players appear in Venice Beach after leaving the sewers, they will find the Blue Crab Grill and a few allies inside. This is a place that players often visit because there are a lot of missions that stem from here.
Venice Beach (The Tower)
The fast travel point for the Venice Beach Tower is located in the military area on the beach. Players will have to wade through quite a few zombies to get here. If it is located at the top of the tower in the middle of the military complex, this fast travel point is very easy to miss since players are not required to visit that location to complete the game.
Ocean Avenue (Sirling Hotel)
The Serling Hotel’s fast-travel point is located at the top of the mall. This is where players will meet Dr. Reed for the first time and the location plays a very large role in the game’s narrative.
Pier (Lifeguard HQ)
The fast travel location at The Pier is located in the Lifeguard HQ on the beach just off the Santa Monica Pier. The map itself is at the top of the HQ, so players will need to work their way up the structure to find it.
metro (storage facilities)
This fast travel hotspot is located deep in the subway tunnels in Southern California. There are a lot of high difficulty zombies in this area, so the fast travel point and the safe area around it are very welcome sights.
Hollywood Boulevard (Re-Aging Clinic)
This fast travel point is only available in the last mission of the game. Players can quickly travel here after the game ends, but they will not be able to explore the area seen before this location, only what is seen after they reach the Re-Aging Clinic.
