Khamzat Chimaev roasted himself on social media due to his massive weight loss at UFC 279.
In the biggest moment of his career, Khamzat Chimaev had many fight fans worried about the state of the main event for UFC 279. On Friday morning, Chimaev weighed 178.5 pounds, 8.5 pounds for the 170-pound welterweight class, and 7.5 lbs. pounds over the limit.
Word is still pending as to whether or not Nate Diaz will accept the fight after he successfully achieved his weight. Chimayev quickly took to Twitter to joke about himself due to the massive weight loss.
Shemayev’s punches lost 7.5 lbs.
In his post, he mentioned his friend and teammate Darren Till, jokingly blaming the weight mistake on Till. So far, UFC 279 has been filled with wild oddities, from Thursday’s press conference brawl and subsequent cancellation to the massive weight loss of the main event.
