Empire, Louisiana (KTRK) – New Orleans Coast Guard monitors rescued three people from shark-infested waters, 25 miles off the coast of Empire, Louisiana, after receiving a report of boat delays Sunday. A family member submitted the report after the boats did not return from a Saturday evening fishing trip. A Coast Guard boat crew arrived at the scene and saw two of the boats battling sharks, as well as injuries to the hands of both boaters.
