Michigan State fans drink Ohio State after early March madness exit

A day after Michigan stunned Tennessee to advance in the NCAA Championship, Wolverines fans watched Ohio State bow out after losing to Villanova.

What a weekend it was for the Michigan Wolverines. Saturday night, Joanne Howard and his players were able to celebrate a surprisingly big win over No. 3 Tennessee. 11th-ranked Michigan defeated Colorado State in the first round.

How can things be made sweeter? On Sunday, Michigan fans were able to enjoy their day more after seeing Ohio State lose to Villanova. The Buckeyes are now out of the competition, while Michigan will continue to dance.

Michigan fans tour Ohio State after another early exit from the NCAA Championship

Villanova was the favorite to defeat the Buckeyes in this game, but that doesn’t mean the people in Ann Arbor aren’t enjoying the result. A quick look at Twitter shows Michigan supporters love Ohio State’s loss.

Chris Holtman’s teams failed to appear in the NCAA Championships and lost last year to 15th seed Oral Roberts in the first round. Holtman is still looking to make his Sweet 16 debut as the Buckeyes coach. Meanwhile, the Wolverine family has made the Sweet 16 somewhat routine.

These are the lights for Ohio. In the win over the Vols, Michigan received impressive performances from big man Hunter Dickinson and guard Eli Brooks. Dickinson scored a game-high with 27 points, while Brooks finished with 23 points. Wolverine’s next match will be with Vilanova at Sweet 16.

With the game set for Thursday, March 24, Michigan will try to do what Ohio State couldn’t and take down the Wildcats. If that happens, Michigan believers will have more reasons to go after the Buckeyes. However, if they lose, Ohio State fans will be ready to attack Michigan and return the favor.
