New Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will likely face a new charge in a different county in Texas.
It’s becoming abundantly clear that Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson’s legal issues just aren’t going away. The latest news has people in Cleveland a little nervous, as FOX 8 News reports that Watson may now face a new criminal charge.
At FOX 8 in Houston, a different grand jury gathered in Texas to search for new evidence against the former Pro Bowl signal caller.
Browns: Deshaun Watson’s legal update
Earlier this month, a grand jury considered more than 20 sexual assault cases against Watson, but decided not to press charges. Once that happened, I opened the door for the NFL teams to come out and try to trade for him.
Several organizations have shown interest, with Watson going through to Browns, Saints, Panthers, and Falcons. Cleveland was originally out of the research, but then a change in Watson’s heart made his way to North Asia.
Cleveland said they did extensive research into the situation and spoke with Watson at length about the accusations against him (although Tony Busby, attorney for the 22 plaintiffs in the civil case against Watson, claims the organization never contacted him). While it looked as if the legal worst was over for Watson, this latest update of a different grand jury getting involved has alarmed Brown’s fans.
The front desk was taking a gamble on Watson when they decided to trade on his behalf, and now things are more complicated for the team as a whole. More news about Watson and the new evidence against him is sure to come out soon. Browns supporters hope nothing will end up causing alarm against their new QB franchise.
