Sure, some of the folks who are filling their March Madness arcs this year have made the Miami Hurricanes advance to the Sweet 16. Others may have won the Iowa Hurricanes their first two games. However, the people the two teams met for a place in the Midwest Final are likely few and far between.
However, this is the match we had on Friday night, March 25th. These two teams exceeded pre-season expectations to enter the NCAA Championship but continued that trend in the big dance. Miami eliminated No. 2 seed Auburn to qualify for this round while Iowa State ousted another favorite, Wisconsin, to advance to the second weekend of March Madness.

The contest between hurricanes and hurricanes will kick off at the Sweet 16 at approximately 9:59 p.m. ET at the United Center in Chciago, IL. This tipping time will likely be rolled back a bit, though they’ll wait until 30 minutes after Providence vs. Kansas is over.

Miami vs Iowa predictions
As mentioned, the big point you’ll see in this match is the Hurricanes’ defense and how the Hurricanes guards will perform against that if they try to break through and what kind of success they’ll have in doing so.
The irony, though, is that Miami’s defense may be the biggest factor. Charlie Moore’s scoring prowess and guards from The U are in focus, but that group has also been great defensively throughout the regular season and early in the NCAA Championship. This could be crucial against an Iowa State team who, frankly, often struggled to find Mojo offensively.
