Mike Krzyowski will enter retirement when the Duke’s Blue Devils NCAA season ends and he will be succeeded by his former player and assistant coach, John Scheer.

Replacing a head coach like Krzyzewski is always a difficult task, but the Blue Devils found his successor before the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
John Sheer succeeds coach K as Duke basketball coach?
Duke has already made up his mind as to who will succeed Coach K next season. This person is none other than Assistant Technical Director John Scheer. Following his playing career, Scheyer returned to Duke as an assistant coach in 2014. He was later promoted to assistant coach in 2018. Once Duke’s NCAA tournament is over, Scheyer will replace Krzyzewski as head coach.
