Tony La Russa at Albert Pujols’ reunion: “High for him’

Tony La Russa “High” Albert Pujols ends his career with the Cardinals

Pujols returns to St. Louis after spending the past decade in Los Angeles. One of the big factors that will allow him to end his football career with the team he is famous for playing with is DH being world class. At 42 years old, it’s hard to imagine Pujols playing on the field every day going forward. Additionally, he can retire playing alongside his best friend in support of the beloved Cardinals Yadier Molina.

There may be a lot of old dogs on this year’s Redbirds roster, but they’re led by cornerbacks still in full swing with third baseman Nolan Arenado and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. St.Louis was a wild card team a season ago after the expanse caught fire. They are the biggest threat to overtaking the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central race.

As far as the Cardinals can fly this year, they’ll be lucky to make it to the NLCS with the last two World Series champions playing in the National League in a pair of former NL West competitors: the former Pujols of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves World Championship Governor. Skating can be tough, but St. Louis have won more titles than any Premier League team in history.

If the Cardinals win it all, Pujols and Molina can blast off into sunset as triple champions.
