With The Masters only a week away, fans have been looking forward to the return of Tiger Woods. A visit to Augusta National Golf Club will give us answers.
Despite all the great golf being played around the world now with The Masters starting in just nine days, there is one theme on every fan’s mind: Tiger Woods.
His name was not significantly listed among the non-playing ex-champions at Augusta National Golf Club which was released two weeks ago which led to the rumors starting to circulate. It began with reports that he was walking, in a chariot, through the Medalist in Florida, which many took to mean preparing for the Masters.
But on Tuesday, things came to a head. It started with the panic that Woods could visit Augusta National Golf Club to take a walk around the course. This led to a college football-style plane tracking down.
Then came the confirmation. Tiger Woods has landed in Augusta and he’s planning a practice run on the field where the best player in the world will compete for the green jacket next week.

Woods’ trip to Augusta to walk the course on Tuesday is a clear sign that the recently entered Hall-of-Famer is up and running and is seriously considering playing for The Masters. However, we should not expect this decision to come on the same day as his tour of the historic place.
As Golf Digest’s Daniel Rappaport has noted, going through the full range of what he might need on a round trip, Tiger probably won’t know what he needs until Wednesday when he can see how a walk around the course affects his life. His leg and back were surgically repaired from which he was recovering.
Back in Genesis calling, Woods spoke about his recovery and possible return He indicated that walking the course was a source of concern to him at that point. When he played in the PNC Championship alongside his son Charlie, he was in a wagon, which meant he didn’t have to test that aspect. But his swing looked good at the time.
But now he’s experiencing the walking part, and it’s definitely something to watch at Augusta National Golf Club, a popular hilly and challenging walk, especially for someone recovering from Ann Woods after his car accident in 2021.
So the short answer is we don’t know if Tiger Woods will ever return to the Masters. But what we can say in light of Tuesday’s events is that he’s trying to do just that.
