Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes has revealed that he has received calls from teams interested in getting second place in the overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The 2022 NFL Draft takes place on April 28, live from Las Vegas. With the event quickly approaching and the days of professionalism wrapping up, teams focus on the potential clients they want to select. To draft a player, the organization may have to trade picks to raise the board.
During Tuesday’s NFL owners meetings, Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes revealed that he had had a “dialogue with two teams,” regarding the No. 2 pick overall in the 2022 NFL draft and that they “could withdraw the trade-off if the other team Ready “.
“I expect it to heat up,” said Holmes, Via Tim Twenteman at DetriotLions.com. “Especially with the selection we got this year because he definitely finished seventh last year. I expect more dialogue.”

This could definitely be welcome news for teams interested in transitioning to a prospect they really want. Especially those who need a midfielder.
The Lions are in good shape regarding the venture capital, as they have the second pick and number 32 in the first round, the latter coming from the Los Angeles Rams in the Matthew Stafford/Jared Goff trade. By trading the second overall pick, they can move down and accumulate more NFL draft picks that can help fill their roster further and build to become a playoff team in what has become a wide open NFC.
It remains to be seen if the deal goes through, but Holmes lets his colleagues know he is open to working with a second public choice if the offer is valid.
