The Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a five-year contract with future Hall of-Fame linebacker Bobby Wagner.
After much speculation in recent weeks, the move is official: Bobby Wagner is returning to the Los Angeles area to fit in for the Rams. After a glorious career with the Seattle Seahawks, Wagner remained in the division with one of the team’s biggest competitors.
According to Ian Rapoport, Rams signed a five-year contract with Wagner worth $50 million. With the incentives in place, Wagner could end up with $65 million.
Signing Bobby Wagner with the Rams is huge for the Super Bowl champions
Wagner has been linked to many other teams, but his heart has clearly always been to play in the Los Angeles area. Wagner went to Colony High in Ontario, which is a 40-minute drive from Los Angeles.
With the Seahawks releasing Wagner this season, infuriating their fan base, teams have been lining up to try to sign him. The Rams have won the lottery and have made their team stronger so they are ready to try to repeat as champions in 2022.
While with the Seahawks from 2012 to 2021, Wagner went to the Pro Bowl eight times and received First Team All Pro Honors six times. He also helped bring the first Lombardy Cup to Seattle, which the Seahawks won in 2014.
In total, Wagner ended his days in Seattle with a 1,383 ace of the ball. His fan base will always love him, which makes the news of him joining the Rams even more difficult. Los Angeles’ bringing in Wagner got fans excited about the prospect of a repeat of this team. Wagner is undoubtedly one of the best supporters in the game, and bad news for the NFC West as a whole is that he will now wear the Rams uniform.
