The NFL has responded on Twitter to the news that the Miami Dolphins cornerback has signed a new five-year contract.
The Miami Dolphins have shown the cash this season. They agreed terms for a $120 million contract extension with Tyreek Hill, which they acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs and signed former New Orleans Saints Terron Armstead to a $75 million contract. Now, they have agreed to a new deal with one of their superstars in defense.
Miami and cornerback Xavian Howard have agreed terms for a five-year contract extension, according to his agent David Kanter. According to NFL reporter Matt Verderam, Howard will receive $25.3 million annually, and the deal will give him $50 million in new money.

Last July, Howard asked to trade Dolphins over his current contract via an Instagram post. However, the Dolphins avoided disaster by agreeing to the terms of a restructured contract in early August of 2021.
From 16 games last season, Howard scored 50 combined tackles, 16 assists to defend, five interceptions (one for touchdown), two forced fouls, and two recoveries (one for touchdown).
