Chicago White Sox Lance Lynn bowler has left his final spring training due to an injury. Will he be ready for opening day?
White Sox lovers right to worry About Lane’s injury, as he is set to be a leading player for the Chicago team expected to win the AL Central race. Lynn was diagnosed with discomfort in his right knee Saturday night after leaving his last spring practice.
Lin also struggled with a right knee problem late last season that sidelined him. If this injury is related to that, he will almost certainly be out for at least a few weeks, and therefore will not be on the list for opening day.
Lance Lane Injury: White Sox throwing crew takes another hit
The White Sox has had a rough experience recently, especially with regards to their promotion staff. This weekend, they traded Craig Kimbrel to the Los Angeles Dodgers and lost Garrett Crochet to Tommy John surgery.
Anything serious with Lynn, and it’s officially time to sound the alarm on the south side.
If Lane has to miss any starts, expect long-time loyalists Reinaldo Lopez or Vince Velasquez to spin in his place. Neither is a reliable long-term option, but hopefully Lynn doesn’t miss out on too much time.
Lynn has been a top 5 player in the AL Cy Young standings for the past three seasons, including last year, when he scored a 2.69 ERA.
