Paul Pierce’s 3-word message should get excited basketball fans in Kansas everywhere.
Kansas basketball legend Paul Pierce is so excited to see his university play for a national title.
Pierce’s Hall of Fame has had both a college and professional career. While many know him as the former star striker for the Boston Celtics, he first made a name for himself at the national level in Kansas. The 1998 All-American consensus was the No. 34 jersey was retired by the Jayhawks. He’s cheering for his beloved university at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Monday night.
Pierce’s message is very simple: “It’s our night!”
Paul Pierce has a powerful 3-word message to get all basketball fans excited in Kansas
If Kansas defeats North Carolina on Monday night, it will be Jay Hawk’s first national championship since 2008.
They haven’t made it this far in the NCAA Championships in a decade. Although the Tar Heels play with great confidence, KS has a Hall of Fame head coach on the sidelines at Bill Self.
This may be a huge mismatch with promising Hubert Davis.
The really interesting part about all of this is The Roy Williams Bowl. The iconic coach has led both of these proud basketball schools.
He was Pierce’s head coach in Kansas before taking over Chapel Hill after the 2003 college season.
Although Williams never won a title in Lawrence, he did bring three titles to Carolina in the two decades leading his alma mater basketball team.
If Kansas continues to play as it has recently, Pierce and the rest of Kansas will celebrate.
