Why do Tiger Woods wear red on Masters Sunday? He does it in every discipline, as it turned out, because of his mother.
Tiger Woods doesn’t have to be at odds at The Masters for wearing red on Sundays. It’s just something he does, especially at Augusta National.
Woods’ stunning return from a near-fatal car crash to walking the greens at Augusta National is cause enough to celebrate. Conduct a cut and finish four rounds of golf at a major tournament? That’s just the cherry on top.
Knowing Woods, he wasn’t happy with his score heading into the final round in August. Seven above par isn’t what it used to be for Tiger, though, especially considering he’s still getting back to his physical normal after the crash a little over a year ago.
Why do Tiger Woods wear red on Masters Sunday?
Woods wears Sunday Reading — not just Masters Sunday — at every tournament he plays. He said the reason could be traced back to his mother, Tida.
“I wear red on Sunday because my mom thinks that’s the color of my strength” Woods said. “And you know, you should always listen to your mother.”
At least, he is right.
It’s great that Tiger Woods is back in the fold and hopefully eventually a regular on the PGA Tour going forward as his rehabilitation continues.
