The Los Angeles Lakers have fired coach Frank Vogel, but the worst is yet to come. Ruthless NBA fans, they’re coming for the lake show.
Los Angeles informed Vogel was sent off on Monday afternoon, having started the overall team with championship expectations, but finished 33-49, missing the post-season altogether.
The Los Angeles roster contained at least four future Hall of Famers, if not more. On paper, they were gigantic. In practice, it was a disaster.
So, where are the Lakers going from here? The environment in the Los Angeles locker room is pretty toxic at this juncture, but there’s plenty of talent to work with. If the Lakers can find a way to weed out Russell Westbrook on another poor team, they may still be able to do the work without a proper season. LeBron and Anthony Davis (when they’re healthy) remain a respectable core group.
Lakers new coach rumors
Los Angeles is interested in hiring Nick Nurse – a coach they’ll need to get by trade – from the Toronto Raptors. He, along with the likes of Quin Snyder, is their number one target. David Wiesdal isn’t a bad insider choice, and Sam Cassel might finally get that prime coaching opportunity if he impresses him during interviews.

There was a lot where that came from.
As always, whichever team LeBron plays for gets the most heat. Given that it’s the Lakers – a franchise already hated by dozens of fans throughout the league – it makes it all the more fun.
