The Cleveland Browns must purchase a receiving target for Deshaun Watson with at least one of their Day Two picks in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft.
After orchestrating a massive deal to acquire former Houston Texans franchise Deshaun Watson, the Cleveland Browns will serve to make them an offensive playmaker or two in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Cleveland may have had to relinquish their 13th-placed first-round pick to Houston to land Watson, but Brown’s team has a trio of top 100 players to provide some help in their fresh start to the midfield. Brown finished 44th overall in the second round, 78th in the third round, and 99th overall in the third round. Getting a receiver would be that clutch.
Regardless of whether Watson or his assistant Jacobi Brissett play the greater part of the season, Cleveland need to buy at least one wide receiver with one of the three top picks this spring.

While it would be a 44th overall arrival in the second round, the Browns could add wide Cincinnati Bearcats receiver Alec Pierce with any of their picks in the third round, perhaps a compensating option ranked 99th. The 6-foot-3, 213-pound receiver played a role He has been instrumental in helping the Bearkats rise to national prominence under head coach Luke Fickl.
Although he might play on the other side of the ball that Feckle specializes in, Pierce has shown that he was a reliable target for Desmond Ryder’s top five potential players during Cincinnati’s career. The Bearcats leave with 106 career catches for 1,851 yards and 13 runs to push the dirt, including an impressive nod to the All-AAC second team in 2021 with 52 catches for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.
The former three-star recruit from Glenn Ellen, Illinois hasn’t had any issues playing in the elements yet, so he’ll play well in the NFL’s black and blue division. While he’s unlikely to be anywhere near a #1 wide receiver professionally, Pierce does serve as a top-three advanced receiver on a cast as part of the cast. With the right system, it can be very productive.
If Browns wait until #99 to address their wide receiver issues, Pierce will likely be available.
