FilmRise says yes to “Yu-Gi-Oh!” Japanese Animation Package

FilmRise, the New York-based film, television and broadcasting network studio, has acquired the North American rights to a slew of Japanese animation titles, under more titles than episodes of “Yu- Gi-Oh!” Franchise business.

The deal with Konami Cross Media NY, part of Japan’s Konami Group, grants AVOD rights to FilmRise Streaming Network, including free advertising-supported TV (FAST) apps and channels.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The franchise is based on the manga series that inspired a trading card game played with monsters, spells and traps, and several video games and TV series.

“This popular Japanese property, along with other beloved anime content, will be shown on our FilmRise Anime Channel, a growing new destination for anime fans in North America,” said Max Einhorn, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Co-Productions at FilmRise.

Video Stream Pack includes 808 episodes of “Yu-Gi-Oh!” TV series in English and 541 dubbed in Spanish. They include “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel of Monsters” (236 episodes x 30 minutes); “Yu-Gi-Oh! GX” (155 episodes x 30 minutes); “Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D” (123 episodes x 30 minutes); “Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL” (146 episodes x 30 minutes); and “Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V” (148 episodes x 30 minutes).

FilmRise’s other animation deals include: one with Fuji Creative Corporation in Mip-TV, covering “Flame of Recca,” “Ghosts at School,” “GTO,” “Key: The Metal Idol,” “Thermal Romae,” and Battery “; another with TMS (“Detective Conan”, “Lupin III”); With Nelvana (for “Beyblade” and “Bakugan”) and others with MVD and MediaBlasters.

Founded in 2012 by producers and financiers Danny Fisher, Jack Fisher and Alan Klingenstein, FilmRise offers more than 50,000 licensed, originally produced, written and unwritten television episodes and feature films. The company’s listing includes: “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Kitchen Nightmares” by Gordon Ramsay; Carsey Werner’s beloved sitcom “The Third Rock from the Sun”; true crime series “Unsolved Mysteries”; High-tech documentary crime series “Forensic Files”; and the classic American TV series “The Rifleman”, “That Girl” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show”.

Rice’s original productions include the true crime series “Bloodline Detectives Hosted by Nancy Grace,” “Meet, Marry Murder With Michelle Trachtenberg,” and a PBS documentary series “Icon: Music Through the Lens.”
