Good news for basketball at UNC after the return of Armando Bacot

Leaky Black joins Armando Bacot in wanting to reboot him with the UNC basketball program.

After his national championship appearance, not only has the UNC basketball team back Armando Paco, but the Leaky Black has said he will be back for his fifth season with the Tar Heels.

Black posted on Twitter a touching video Friday afternoon about his decision to exhaust his final year of college eligibility at the Carolina Blues. While Brady Mannick became one of the biggest names during Tar Heels’ transition to the national title, Black’s name began to resonate nationally with every North Carolina win during the NCAA Championship.

This is the video he posted to Twitter on Friday, getting Tar Heel fans everywhere excited in the process.

UNC Basketball Star Leaky Black returns for fifth season at Chapel Hill

While the NBA may be a part of his basketball future, Black’s basketball presence is impressive in North Carolina. The Tar Heels set a massive feat in Hubert Davis’ first year at the helm of famed superstar Roy Williams. From being in the championship bubble in February to almost winning in April, North Carolina State should carry a lot of momentum next season.

As for what the Black’s return means for the Tar Heels, not only does it give them a strong core to build on heading into next season, but it will allow Black to really take advantage of his NIL opportunities. He and Bakut will be two of the most marketable stars in the college episodes returning next season. It may not be a professional contract, but it should be enough to stay in school and get a master’s degree.

In the end, the main message in Black’s comeback video is that he wants to cherish every last second of the Carolina Blues for as long as possible. Chapel Hill is a special place and Black knows that all too well. When will he get the chance to play ball with his best friends on the planet and pursue the elusive national title? Run-it-back stories aren’t always published, but look for UNC in 2023.

Expectations will be high for the Qatar 2022-23 heel, but that’s what Paco and Black want.
