Boxing Hall of Fame George Foreman talks about Tyson Fury vs Dillian White

Boxing Hall of Fame George Foreman presents his thoughts on Tyson Fury vs.Dillian Whyte which will be streamed live on ESPN + PPV.

This Saturday, the WBC & Ring Magazine heavyweight title will be on the line against 94,000-plus at Wembley Stadium in London, UK Tyson Fury (31-0-1) will put his titles and undefeated record on the line against top contender Dillian White (28-2) .

The lead up to this Saturday was strange, to say the least, as everything from Whyte who didn’t initially appear to promote the fight to Fury publicly said this would be his last fight. However, it’s a heavyweight championship fight, and that still means it gets the attention of both purists and casual fans. With that being said, it was right to reach someone familiar with the situation in which both men found themselves, two-time former heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer George Foreman.

The 73-year-old Foreman has been enjoying the fruits of his labor for some time, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get along with what’s happening in the sport, especially the heavyweight division. With Whyte not publicly promoting the fight until Wednesday, there was some curiosity about what someone like Foreman might think about the actions. Foreman told FanSided, “It’s not like he’s scared, but it’s more that someone like his manager is telling him not to. He’s probably doing it to make people wonder. It wouldn’t work out with Tyson Fury because he’s one of the better ones who ever did.”

Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury will defend his title against Dillian White on Saturday, April 23, live on ESPN+PPV, 2PM EST / 11AM PT.

Another theme that comes into play in this show is Fury saying that this is his last fight. Those in boxing circles know that it’s hard to keep this fire inside once one foot is out the door. Foreman knows a thing or two about it and said, “This is tough. Once you’ve done it all and come up to fight, especially a few days ago, you ask yourself, ‘For what purpose in the world am I doing this?”

Foreman continued, “You have some money allotted, be the world heavyweight champion, do the impossible, and then there’s one match you go into the ring and you don’t know why you’re doing it. That’s scary more than anything, and I think if (Tyson) Fury wasn’t keen, he might. Be there now. You can fight like I don’t know what, but when the cat isn’t in the corner, she can’t scratch (laughs).” The biggest question mark that will begin on Saturday will be whether Fury is as dedicated as he was in Deontay’s last three fights. Wilderness.

As this fight week begins, many have questioned the promotion here in the US as it seems the hype isn’t where it should be, but Hall of Famer Foreman feels differently about the match. “I think it’s a great heavyweight match. Tyson Fury is in that place where he’s conquered everything, so it’s hard to stay motivated. That’s the worst thing in the world: walking into the ring and not knowing why you are, but he has the ability, the size and the strength to win it all without any Problem: Foreman told FanSided:

Foreman had two separate boxing careers which led to him taking the heavyweight crown, so what Fury is going through is nothing new to him. He understands Fury’s position and what he must do to achieve victory on Saturday.

As we near the end of the interview, Foreman had one last thought about Fury vs. Whyte and who thinks he will win the battle. Foreman said exclusively to FanSided:

“You get to the top of the mountain, and a lot of us don’t know what to do. He (Fury) has all the physical ability and the heart, so there’s no reason why he can’t win, but things like mentioning retirement might be his biggest mistake. Every fight has to be ‘I have to win’.” And to have this young heart. He brought this young heart to the United States, and he beat everyone. Lose that little tiger’s heart. You lose the fight.” Foreman continued, “I see him (Fury) winning this game because he has more power than the other guy (White). The other guy isn’t the athlete and the boxer that Fury is. He’s not. I see him (Fury) winning the fight but on points, and if the guy (White) gives him the One break, he’ll kick him out.”
