On his first chance to face his former team, George Springer fired a home run in his first game against the Houston Astros.
George Springer broke the hearts of Houstonians when he decided to leave the Houston Astros for the Toronto Blue Jays. Unfortunately for the folks in Houston, Springer is breaking hearts in Space City once again as he helps the Blue Jays beat his former team.
How did Springer help lift the Blue Jays beyond the Astros on Saturday? Well, in his first Houston bet since he left the Astros, Springer pulled off a home run to give Toronto a good 1-0 lead in the first half.
It’s a great race at home! Astros fans will agree. They just don’t want Springer to happen against them.
George Springer walks home in Houston’s first hit since joining the Toronto Blue Jays
Look, it looks like Springer is just used to hitting home in Houston. that happens. He’s done this for most of his career.
It’s just that Astros fans won’t be fond of the team currently hitting home because it’s not Houston. There are many Houstonians who believe the Astros should have done more to help keep Springer with the team.
But that’s not how it all unfolded and now Springer will bump into Blue Jays flowers. Unfortunately for the Astros, that obviously includes every time he encounters them.
He definitely seems to fit in with the good guys in Houston and there will always be plenty who will be smitten with him for all he’s accomplished helping the Astros over the years. This includes helping the Astros win the 2017 world championship.
