Chicago White Sox player Eloy Jimenez was sent off the field against the Twins. While his injury won’t end the season, the update isn’t promising.
Right from the start, Jimenez will miss at least 6 to 8 weeks, at the White Sox. This isn’t an ideal starting point, but the team and Jimenez hope he can avoid any major procedures or surgery on his side.
Jimenez received an MRI on Saturday. This is far from the first illness the 25-year-old has been forced to deal with, as he ruptured his left patellar tendon earlier in his career.

White Sox: How long will Eloy Jimenez be out?
Jimenez will undergo more testing in Chicago, with the White Sox on the road now. 6-8 weeks is the initial estimate, which may be positive given how severe his injury was at that time.
However, losing a young phenomenon like Jimenez for any length of time is tough, especially for a team like the White Sox. Lance Lin and Lucas Giolito are still out of the reductive cast, not to mention the likes of Yuan Moncada, Louis Robert and others.
Jimenez has been scoring just 0.29 in his one-game home run this season.
