by trading James Harden For Ben Simmons, the nets seem to have replaced one problem with another.

Simmons has yet to file a lawsuit against Brooklyn. He’s been missing through injury or some other problem all season. However, there was hope that he could boost the Nets in the playoffs.

All signs point to a Game 4 debut against the Celtics. Then the team ruled him out on Sunday. And the basketball world collectively groan.

Ben Simmons “gets angry” at the networks

The Nets may not show the frustration publicly, but according to ESPN’s Brian Windhurst, there is significant frustration behind the scenes.

“The people involved here are upset about this epic, because that’s what it is,” Windhurst said. “Yesterday it felt like waving a white flag.”

While it may seem Simmons simply doesn’t want to play in a seemingly doomed 3-0 streak, Windhorst has stated that his absence is only related to his injured back. He woke up on Sunday with his back hurting and that was the case.

“He didn’t feel comfortable going and playing for the first time in 11 months with the way his back feels,” Windhurst said. “It was extraordinarily disappointing because he had real optimism for at least a week that he was going to play in this game… It was a riding moment Others in the season Ben Simmons rode moments.”

It’s impossible to gauge what’s really going on with Simmons’ return from abroad. Injuries to this part of the body are known to be difficult and can continue in the most frustrating manner.

Simmons’ problem is that his track record doesn’t exactly encourage the benefit of skepticism. He was not known for putting everything on the line for his team. Can he play through the discomfort? Is everything mental? Just having these questions is part of the frustration.
