Owner Willis, a rumored first-round draftee and ex-Liberty QB, can’t believe he wasn’t picked up on day one.
Willis is rumored to have been a good fit for the Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, and Pittsburgh Steelers, for starters, but all three of these teams have outgrown him in favor of other players. The Steelers even drafted a different quarterback in the house of Kenny Beckett.
While producer Liberty understands that the NFL is a cool business, the fall all the way to the second round came as a surprise to QB who thought he could make it to sixth in Carolina.

What happened?
It has been said that Willis has more potential than any quarterback in this year’s class. While the QB class is one of the weakest in recent memory, in a quarterback-driven league, non-contenders are always just a capable signal communicator.

There aren’t many teams in need of QB at the top of the second round. The Bucs hold the number one pick, and while they can take the apparent heir to recently retired Tom Brady, Willis would come as a surprise considering they’re trying to compete now.
Houston has a fifth option in the second round, but they have already committed to Davis Mills. The Seahawks, who make both the 9th and 10th picks of the round, might be your best bet to take a pilot on a player like Willis.
Seattle has the likes of Jenno Smith and Drew Locke putting pressure on the QB center, and Baker Mayfield is likely to be on the way. Willis will have time to develop in practice and in the movie room before he steps into any real competitive action in the regular season.
While going in the first round was the favourite, Willis might come out of this in a decent spot anyway.
