New York Mets pitcher Taiguan Walker was found fined for being involved in a brawl with the St. Louis Cardinals on Twitter.
Despite being on the injured list during Wednesday’s brawl with the St. Louis Cardinals, Taiguan Walker was able to get in on the action. After New York Mets loyalist Yuan Lopez threw the floor too close to impress Nolan Arenado, words were exchanged and the crippled and crippled cleared.
Suspensions and fines were suspended the next day with Arenado receiving two games, teammate Genesis Cabrera receiving one game and Jack Flaherty receiving a fine. On the Mets side of things, no one was stopped but both Yuan Lopez and Walker were fined.
Apparently, someone forgot to copy Walker on email because he didn’t know about it until Joel Sherman tweeted the updated news about the result:
Taijuan Walker found out the fine he got in the Mets-Cardinals brawl on Twitter
There may be worse things to discover on social media. In our digital age where players and coaches have found out about deals and shootouts in a place like Twitter, the fine doesn’t seem too bad. Walker took the approach of laughing at him.
Mets fans were sure to wrap their heads around Walker as they found out for themselves. Based on Walker’s response, many seemed willing to give him the money to pay the fine. To show his love, Walker decides to give away some tickets for Saturday’s game when he returns to the hill.
Walker’s fine was somewhat of a surprise to more than just him. He was not a key cast member in the bench removal incident. Aside from Arenado and Lopez, it looked as though Pete Alonso, the Mets’ first captain or the Cardinals’ first coach, Staby Clapp, could also face some disciplinary action. Nothing a little confusing.
A Major League Baseball team might have analyzed the brawl video like the Zapruder movie only to discover that there was something Walker did in the accident to deserve the fine. Suspension and fines is a baseball fight that doesn’t seem to make much sense. At least, someone could have told Walker before he hit Twitter.
