Olin Kreutz, a former Chicago Bears center, was fired from his job at CHGO Sports after he allegedly “physically attacked” another employee.
Olin Kreutz had busy days ending with shooting from CHGO.
During the NFL Draft, the former Bears center fell out of the group when Chicago chose their defensive back instead of their offensive line to start the second round.
That was a little fun, but what allegedly happened on Monday was much more dangerous.
CHGO tweeted that they cut ties with Kreutz because he “physically assaulted” an employee.
Bears legend Olin Kreutz shot due to an alleged physical attack
“On Monday morning, there was an incident in which Olin Kreutz physically assaulted a CHGO employee. Effective immediately, Olin Kreutz is no longer with CHGO,” the statement said. “Although we are shocked by the incident, we are grateful that the employee is fine. The health and safety of our employees is of paramount importance and we will not tolerate any action that puts this at risk.”
On Kreutz’s part, he didn’t seem to have any regrets when he jumped on Twitter with a reply. Instead of apologizing or denying wrongdoing, Mike Tyson was quoted as saying that some people deserve to be punched in the face.
Whatever happens with Kreutz on Monday, no more viral moments for CHGO in draft coverage or otherwise will result.
Kreutz is also an analyst at NBC Sports Chicago. It is not clear if this incident will affect his presence on that network as well.
The Pro Bowler played six times for the Bears from 1998 to 2010. The franchise ranked him among the top 100 players in history, ranking him 27.
