Those three games could cost the Minnesota Vikings dearly on the 2022 season schedule.
A pencil in the Minnesota Vikings as one of the teams most likely to run into the playoffs that weren’t a year ago in the NFL.
Minnesota is hiring a quarterback for the franchise Pro Bowl team at Kirk Cousins. Not only that, but he finally has an offensive coach in the Twin Cities with the arrival of Kevin O’Connell of the Los Angeles Rams. O’Connell may be a head coach for the first time, but he and his cousins have a previous working relationship from their time together in Washington. Until things get better!
However, the NFL did not do the Vikings any credit with where it assigned these three games to them.

3. Week Two: Philadelphia Eagles (Monday, September 19)
Admittedly, there aren’t a lot of questionable games on the Vikings schedule, but one that stands out somewhat is Who’s Playing Week 2. Minnesota will have to travel to Brotherly Love City to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. This is the second of two non-starter programs for Cousins. Only two losses may add to his “narration.”
Although the Vikings have all out of season to prepare for their archrivals the Green Bay Packers who will come to town in their first week, they only have a week to adjust to whatever Nick Siriani and the Philadelphia boys bring in. One could argue that this game could decide the positioning at the end of the regular season. Expect a head-to-head tiebreaker to carry weight later in the season.
Their cousins may have had a solid history with the Eagles since his time in Washington, but Minnesota doesn’t play them much. Therefore, there is a good chance that the Vikings will start the year with a 0-2 draw. Conversely, they could be 2-0 down to their Week 3 game at home versus the division rival Detroit Lions. Sure, an extra day to prepare helps, but the first two matches aren’t easy.
This is why it is essential for Cousins to have a strong first quarter of the season for the Vikings.
