Ortiz is a permanent member of the Sox Nation. A fan favorite and a baseball Hall of Fame for a reason, Ortiz is an active member of the MLB media and isn’t shy about his status in the Boston Homer.
Just a few days ago, he talked about how the Red Sox needs to make it a priority to extend Xander Bogaerts before it’s too late. On Tuesday, Ortiz revealed even more plots – he believes this Boston team, despite their poor start, will make the playoffs.
“I think the Red Sox are in a good environment right now, sweeping the sailors in their last home,” Ortiz said. “I think that was good for us. I can tell you now, we’re going to be in the playoffs. I can tell you now, I have that feeling.”
Well, I’m not one to question Big Babi himself.

The Red Sox have won five games in a row and drawn 8-2 in their last 10 games. Trevor Storey suddenly changed things, hitting five home runs against the Mariners in a four-game sweep of Fenway Park.
“My friend is getting hotter, Trevor, I think that’s a good sign,” Ortiz added. “Baseball is all about environment and chemistry. If you have good chemistry and a good environment, everyone would love to go in the same direction. I think it’s at this point now.”
Boston started season 10-19, and at the bottom of the Middle East. Sox was behind the division’s lowly Baltimore Orioles and sat more than 10 games behind the New York Yankees. While winning the AL East still seems like a pipe dream, the Red Sox are now 19-22 taking matters into their own hands one game at a time.
