Reason to fear David Benavidez and Janbek Alikhanoli

David Benavidez and Janbek Alemkhanoli made it difficult for the champions in their teams to avoid them. Here’s why their departments are worried.

There comes a time when a good boxer turns into an elite fighter, and at David Benavidez and Janibek Alimkhanuly’s, it’s time.

To be fair, Benavidez has long proven himself worthy of the term “elite”. He is a two-time world middleweight champion and has lost his titles twice due to out of the ring situations.

Benavides was stripped of his WBC middleweight title in 2018 afterwards Positive benzoylgonine test, indicating the presence of cocaine. After winning the title from Anthony Dirrell in 2019, Benavidez lost that title before facing off with Roamer Alexis Angulo.

Benavidez said he’s his biggest opponent, but at 25 years old, Benavidez has grown in wisdom and ability.

After beating David Lemieux in three rounds, some might think the reaction to Benavidez’s win was exaggerated. When a boxer achieves a visually pleasing victory over an overpowered opponent, the win can receive a lot of praise.

But this is not the case for Benavidez or Alimkhanoli.

Alimkhanuly is a class below Benavidez at the middleweight, but he didn’t give poor Danny Dignum a chance. Dignum was brave but out of his league against Alimkhanuly, but Alimkhanuly is an avoided fighter.

Benavidz and Alimkhanoli in similar situations. They beat their opponents in broad daylight on May 21 and hold provisional titles, putting them in the “mandatory contender” category. However, both are unlikely to secure a next title.

David Benavidz and Janbek Alimkhanoli are two shortlists who can wait a long time for a full title shot.

In the case of Benavidez, Canelo Alvarez is the full WBC champion, but it was officially announced that he would meet Gennady Golovkin in a three-way match on September 17.

Alvarez is the undisputed champion and is trying to regain momentum after his light heavyweight defeat against Dimitri Bevol. He is also trying to fulfill his contractual obligations to DAZN and Matchroom while achieving the most lucrative payday.

Benavidez has no illusions to fight Alvarez next. The name he gave for FanSided is Caleb Plant. While Benavidez spends his time on the title shot, he wants big names like Blunt and Germal Charlo.

But do they want it?

Benavidez has always been a heavyweight player in size, but he showed an improvement in movement early on against Lemieux. He thrust on his toes and avoided holding his legs while moving forward.

After defeating Lemieux in Round 2, Benavidez’s footwork grew a bit sloppy, but he already knew the fight was over. Benavidez always had the stamina and strength to be a pound-for-pound fighter, but now he also has discipline, as evidenced by his lower weight, his boxing IQ and confidence rising.

For now, Blunt might want to think twice before battling Benavides. It could be the breakdown of his boxing career.

Like Benavidz, Alemkhanoli showed superior boxing skills. It’s not the power puncher that Benavidez has, but his hand speed was extremely fast against Dignum. Alimkhanuly has always had a huge amateur pedigree as both an Olympic and amateur world champion, but he seems to have discovered the professional game.

His strength comes in well, and he has the fastest hands in the middleweight division. Demetrius Andrade holds the WBO title but has already proven he doesn’t want any part of Alimkhanuly after choosing not to fight him earlier in the year.

Golovkin and Jermall Charlo are the other title holders, but it is unlikely that either of them would want to face Alimkhanuly. Alimkhanuly lacks the fame and popularity of the name Alvarez, but he has earned everyone’s respect by knocking out Dignum.

At 29, Ali Khanuli was in the prime of his physical life. The entire squad could have cleared their belts instead of fighting the Alemkhanoli. Golovkin and Charlo are great fighters, but they could lose to B team Alemkhanoli.

Benavidez and Alemkhanoli are looking for a challenge. Hopefully someone will answer the call to fight them.
