The questionable decisions made this holiday season may return to haunt the Minnesota Vikings.
Although the Minnesota Vikings have every reason to believe they are playoff contenders this fall, the front office has already made some pretty scratchy decisions that can be very costly.
After failing to qualify for the postseason last year, Minnesota chose to go in a different direction organizationally. They ditched longtime coach Mike Zimmer and former general manager Rick Spielman in favor of Kevin O’Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, respectively. With NFC down, Minnesota might hold the playoffs anyway, but one bad decision could spoil their year.
Here are the three worst moves made by the Vikings brass during the most important NFL season.

3. Decisions about Garrett Bradbury have been weird all along
It’s very difficult to believe in a resilient attacking streak when the starting position is seen as an obstacle. Minnesota believed they cemented this crucial position in the trenches when the Vikings captured Garrett Bradbury in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft from North Carolina. It’s a pity that he’s been one of the worst positions in the league for the past three years. Wait, there is more…
Even if it made sense that the New Vikings front office wouldn’t extend Bradbury’s ineffective fifth-year option to 2023, they didn’t bring any free agents to compete with him, nor did they add a position to push him out of this year’s draft. For whatever reason, the Vikings tempt fate by letting Bradbury remain the bottleneck in their offensive line. They really pay it.
There may be some insider belief that O’Connell will be able to put Bradbury in more advantageous positions with his scheme as a mid-attack coach. However, the Vikings are a bad hit to Kirk Cousins or Dalvin Cook from falling off a cliff this season. If the Minnesota offensive line’s fulcrum leaked like a sieve, the Vikings would run into trouble.
If Bradbury struggled, the Vikings might have to kick one of their many guards inside.
