Boston Red Sox fans should not relate to these three players because they will be off the list by July 1.
Boston Red Sox as Frankenstein’s monster. Alive! Their rough start appears to have been put into the past as the club advances in the standings and the MLB Power rankings. They are a credible football club now and have a chance to become this year’s edition of the 2019 Washington Nationals.
In order to survive the competition, the Red Sox will need to make tough decisions with their roster. This means discounts, DFA, and upgrade players to fill a need.
By July 1, Red Sox fans are anticipating the departure of these three players.
3. The Red Sox will tire Bobby Dalbeck and demote him
Bobby Dalbec may be the most famous Red Sox player who lost his place on the list first. With Franchy Cordero getting some chances to play first base in place – and production when he does – Dalbec’s time at the Red Sox could soon be over.
Dalbec live another one of those years. If you’ve ever followed the Red Sox, you understand exactly what that means.
The first base officer of the third year may be the most frustrating player on the list. He demonstrated his ability to rise to power last year, hitting 25 times in 453 trips to the plate. Unfortunately, it came with only .240/.298/.494 slashes.
Dalbec is setting even worse numbers this year. While some of his teammates are emerging from early stagnation, he remains stuck in his time and loses his time playing.
Working to his advantage might favor a left/right platoon at first base as Dalbec starts against left-handed shooters. Working against him is the number one possibility in the regime of Triston Casas, a first baseman. It might not matter if it’s hot in Triple-A or not. Boston may still want to see what he can do against the top league bowlers after he has grown tired of Dalbeck.
