Terek Hill explained that his new Miami Dolphins teammate, Tua Tagovailoa, is throwing a more accurate football than his former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes. Nor is he mistaken.
During an episode of the new podcast, It needs to be toldthe Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver Tyreek Hill hit fans of the Kansas City Chiefs as it hurts by saying he prefers Tua Tagovailoa’s accuracy over Patrick Mahomes.
The Kingdom of Chiefs may fall apart over this comment, but sometimes, the truth hurts. To be completely transparent, Mahomes has been and always will be the best passer overall, but keep in mind what are Tagovailoa’s two greatest strengths as a quarterback: accuracy and how he behaves on the podium. Mahomes accuracy is only a sign of what Tagovailoa typically records.

Hill’s comments were about where he prefers soccer reception: right in the breadbasket. Tagovailoa has plenty of faults as an NFL quarterback, but he throws a beautiful spiral and can usually position him exactly where he wants. Mahomes crushes him in most of his other quarterback traits, which is why he’s a future Hall of Fame and Tagovailoa could become a flop.
To back up Hill’s claim, Tagovailoa was more accurate than Mahomes last year (67.8 to 66.3 percent) and slightly better at their NFL jobs (66.2 to 66.1 percent). If we want to take this one step further, blow Tagoviloa Mahomes out of the water in college. He left Alabama with a 69.3 percent rate, while Mahomes was just a 63.5 percent passer at Texas Tech.
On a strictly accurate basis, Hill is 100 percent right in saying that Tagovailoa is better than Mahomes. Bad soccer games are not won or lost based on accuracy entirely. It is based on audacity, mental toughness, and all kinds of other intangible things, not to mention the talent of the arm, mobility and durability. Tagovailoa could become a good midfielder, but Mahomes is a fleeting talent throughout.
Hill is the type of player who can make this statistic more meaningful with his dolphin play.
