It’s Aaron Judge and everyone else

When it comes to chasing the 2022 AL MVP, he’s New York Yankees player Aaron then everyone else.

it’s a Aaron JudgeA world, and we all just live in it. The New York Yankees player has been wreaking havoc on his rivals this season and is undoubtedly the #1 player in the AL MVP chase.

But while Judge is currently in control of his quest for the most prestigious trophy in the MLS, there are others who are on the hunt. If a Yankees player falters, there are those who can pounce on him and outsmart him as the season goes on.

Aaron Judge Yankees leads the way in the AL MVP race.

Aaron Judge leads the American League in the OPS and tracks only Paul Goldschmidt of St. Louis Cardinals in the Major League in that category. Players with 25 innings of the season are by far the best and his 6.8 cooldown beats the MLB too.

Not only does the judge dominate the plate, but his team dominates the standings. Judge and the New York Yankees have nine games against their closest rivals in the AL East. While team success doesn’t necessarily qualify as an AL MVP, it certainly can’t hurt. Let’s look at the other candidates vying for the trophy.

  1. Aaron Judge, New York Yankees
  2. Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians
  3. Raphael Devers, Boston Red Sox
  4. Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
  5. Shane McClanahan, Tampa Bay Rays

Jose Ramirez It comes second in our strength rankings. After signing a massive contract extension this off-season, J-Ram is showing the Guardians why they signed him on such a lucrative new deal.

The third baseman ranks behind Aaron Judge in the OPS this season and is top of the MLS three times. Ramirez has an impressive 198 OPS+ and will be a player to keep a close eye on as the season moves into the summer heat.

The Boston Red Sox have been in a bit of a rip recently, and a great deal of their success can be attributed to third baseman Raphael Davers. While JD Martinez and Xander Bogaerts play at a very high level too, it’s Devers who leads Boston to victory.

Devers tracks both Martinez’s Bogaerts in batting average and base percentage, but the 25-year-old has a 0.617 slowdown and 16 home runs. Devers leads the league in doubles (23) this season.

You can’t have a discussion about the best MLS player without including Mike Trout. Arguably the best player in baseball, Trout is putting together another MVP season.

While the Los Angeles Angels struggle, very little of these struggles can be attributed to Trout. The nine-time All-Star hit .289 with 16 triple rounds and an OPS+ of 186. Trout’s 1.010 OPS ranks fourth in the AL.

Shane McClanahan may be on his way to winning the AL Cy Young race in 2022, although Justin Verlander may have something to say about that. McClanahan has a Spark 1.84 ERA in his 13th start of the season.

The Tampa Bay pitcher leads the Major League in hitting (105) as last year’s NL Cy Young winner Corbin Burns joined him as the only three-pointer shooters so far this season.
